Amritsar Group of Colleges celebrated Lohri Festival

  Amritsar Group of Colleges echoed with joyous celebrations as the institution embraced the Lohri festival's fervour. Faculty and staff came together in festive vibes to mark the occasion in a traditional yet jubilant manner. Advocate Sh. Amit Sharma, Chairman AGC, Madam Ragini Sharma, Director Finance AGC, Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director and Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Principal AGC, graced the occasion and lit the ceremonial bonfire to start the celebrations. The atmosphere was vibrant with the Punjabi folk songs, Giddha and Bhangra. The entire gathering looked fantastic, adorned in traditional festival attire, reflecting the essence of the Lohri festivities. Amidst the laughter and joy, everyone relished the customary Lohri delicacies of moongfali, reverrian and popcorn. The event encapsulated the essence of unity and cultural diversity, developing a sense of togetherness among the entire team of Amritsar Group of Colleges.

AGC Amritsar inaugurates the Virtual Labs Nodal Centre in association with IIT Roorkee.

  AGC added another feather to its cap of achievements by su ccessfully establishing the Nodal Centre for Virtual Labs in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, an initiative of Ministry of Education, under the National Mission of Education Scheme through ICT, and conducting a two-day workshop to create awareness about it. Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Principal AGC Amritsar, inaugurated the Virtual Labs Nodal Centre. He stated that Virtual Labs nodal centre will help in reducing the industry- academia gap as student’s learning approach will become more practical oriented. He also highlighted the fact that collaboration with IIT Roorkee, will provide students an opportunity to become a part of Virtual labs as developers under the internship scheme provided by IIT Roorkee, which will further reduce the placement challenges faced by them.   Amritsar Group of Colleges feels happy   to share the wonderful experience of our recent Garden-Based Learning Program for school students. It was an event filled with excitement, discovery, and hands-on learning. Mrs. Suhinder Kaur, the esteemed wife of the Cabinet Minister of Power and Supply was the Chief Guest of the Programme. The students were shown how the farm utilized organic waste as fertilizer, how the livestock provided manure for compost, and how the compost was used to fertilize the crops. This helped the students understand the importance of utilizing resources in a sustainable manner. Next, the students were taken on a tour of the farm and shown the different types of crops that were being grown.  BHMCT is a four-year professional degree course, which is offered by many universities in Punjab.  It provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become successful hotel managers. To be eligible for this course, one must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized board.  Additionally, they must also have studied English as a compulsory subject in their 10+2 curriculum. Furthermore, the student must also have passed the entrance exam conducted by the university or college offering BHMCT .  This entrance exam tests the student's aptitude and knowledge of various topics related to hotel management. With these criteria met, one can pursue a successful career in hospitality management after completing BHMCT from a reputed institute in Punjab.

Blood Donation Camp At Agc Amritsar

NSS WING OF AGC and Jagriti NGO JOINTLY ORGANIZED Blood Donation camp in ASSOCIATION WITH Guru Nanak Dev Medical Hospital and Research Centre, Amritsar & Knowledge Villa Integrated Education and Welfare Society (KVIEWS), Amritsar on    15 th Feb 2023 . In this camp, 200 units of blood were donated by staff & students. The camp was inaugurated by the Principal AGC Dr. V.K. Banga . The Paramedical staff of Guru Nanak Dev Medical Hospital and Research Center, Amritsar, and KVIEWS, Amritsar provided the technical cover in organizing this event.           Advocate Sh. Amit Sharma ji (Chairman & CEO), and  Dr. Rajneesh Arora (Managing Director) encouraged the donors by telling them that blood donation is not a small donation it is a very big donation. It could save someone's precious life, Could light a family’s lamp, and could give happiness to a family. Principal, Dr. V K Banga appreciated the donors for donating blood. 

Faculty Development Program On Physical Sciences

It is an immense pleasure to share with all of you that the Department of Applied Sciences, Amritsar  Engineering Colleges, Amritsar, Punjab has successfully completed Five days long Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on NEOTERIC DEVELOPMENTS IN PHYSICAL SCIENCES from 16th January 2023 to 20th January 2023. Dr. V K Banga, Principle AGC inaugurated the FDP. This FDP had been organized in association with the Department of Applied Sciences at Jaipur Engineering College and Research Center, Jaipur, Rajasthan. There were Eminent research scholars from renowned Institutes like IKGPTU, AGC, DRDO, and JECRC Rajasthan who delivered sessions on various topics related to Neoteric  Developments in Physical Sciences during the FDP.   One day Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Programme Workshop was conducted on 25.01.2023 at AGC, Amritsar in association with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM 2.0). It was conducted Online/Offline to benefit large number of audiences.  Dr. Narinder Sharma Dean R & D under the guidance of Principal V.K. Banga Managed the whole affair.   Mr. Rajneesh Pratap Singh, Examiner of Patents & Designs (Group “A” Gazetted Officer), Indian Patent Office New Delhi was the Expert for the talk and the deliverance of the content was very informative and useful.  Dr. V.K.
