AGC Amritsar inaugurates the Virtual Labs Nodal Centre in association with IIT Roorkee.

 AGC added another feather to its cap of achievements by successfully establishing the Nodal Centre for Virtual Labs in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, an initiative of Ministry of Education, under the National Mission of Education Scheme through ICT, and conducting a two-day workshop to create awareness about it. Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Principal AGC Amritsar, inaugurated the Virtual Labs Nodal Centre. He stated that Virtual Labs nodal centre will help in reducing the industry- academia gap as student’s learning approach will become more practical oriented. He also highlighted the fact that collaboration with IIT Roorkee, will provide students an opportunity to become a part of Virtual labs as developers under the internship scheme provided by IIT Roorkee, which will further reduce the placement challenges faced by them.

Along with the establishment of the Virtual Labs Nodal Centre, a 2-day hands on Workshop on Virtual Labs awareness was also organised for the faculty and students of the college. Experts from Virtual Labs, Mr. Jasbir Singh and Mr. Chetan Dhiman (Project Associates, IIT Roorkee) explained the working of Virtual Labs in different advance fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT etc. More than 25 faculty members and more than 350 students of various Engineering streams of the college benefitted from this workshop. Dr. Gaurav Tejpal congratulated the Department of CSE for the establishment of Virtual Labs Nodal Centre and the successful conduct of the workshop.
