10 th Annual Faculty Cricket Tournament at AGC

Faculty Club of AGC organized its 10 th Annual Faculty Cricket Tournament on its campus. Total 4 teams (AGC PANTHERS, AGC SOLDIERS, AGC INFERNO, AND AGC LEGENDS) took part in the event. The first match was played between the AGC Panthers versus AGC Legends. The AGC Panthers team won the toss and chose the ball first. While scoring 139 in 8 overs in first innings, AGC Panthers defeated AGC Legends by 8 wickets and qualified for the finals. The same day 2nd League match was played between AGC Soldiers and AGC Inferno. AGC Inferno won the toss and elected to field first.

AGC Soldiers scored 108/5 in 8 overs, won the match by 5 runs and reached the finals. The Final match was played between the AGC PANTHERS and AGC SOLDIERS. Both the teams played exceptionally well and it was tough to say, which team will win the match. The team & AGC PANTHERS were the champions and ‘AGC SOLDIERS’ were the runner up of the tournament. Er. Bhuvnesh played extremely well and awarded with Man of Match and Best Batsman trophy. Mr. Amandeep Sajjan awarded with Best Bowler. Mr. Kamaljit Singh also won Man of Match title. Winner Trophy won by Er.Pavitar Singh, Captain of the team AGC PANTHER

RS and all the players of team were awarded with gold Medals. Runner-up trophy given to Mr. Amit Thakur, Captain of team ‘AGC SOLDIERS’ and silver medals to all the participants of team soldiers.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr V K Banga, Principal, AGC said that organization of such a cricket tournament will help bring the institute back to normal life. Cricket is a team sport which provides people of every age with a variety of skills needed to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity. Dr.Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, AGC congratulated the winners and applauded the heartfelt performance of all the participants for their energy and uplifting the true passion of the game. Sh Amit Sharma (Chairman, AGC) and Madam Ragini Sharma (Director Finance) congratulated the winners and appreciated the contribution of organizers and participants.
