Prosperous Tradition of Annual Cake-Mixing Ceremony at AGC, Amritsar

Amritsar Group of Colleges organized its annual event 'Cake-Mixing Ceremony- 2022' ahead of Christmas Celebrations. The Principals of various renowned schools of Amritsar marked their presence in the ceremony and participated in the event graciously and had a lot of fun and a wonderful experience.

 Cake mixing is the event when all the ingredients of festive fruit cake (i.e. Mixed Peels, Prunes & Brown sugar, etc.) are marinated together with wine and liquor one month before Christmas and then on the occasion, is distributed to all the friends, family & relatives.

An interesting array of fruits, nuts, and spices went into a huge cauldron. Endless bottles of spirits and syrups like golden syrup, molasses, honey, and vanilla essence were poured into the mix while a number of gloved hands rolled up their sleeves and participated in a hearty mixing of dry fruits and nuts for plum cakes with spirits and kneaded the concoction. The student chefs made 10-foot stands holding 15 different varieties of dry fruits and raisins decorated with the logo AGC-HMCT.

The ceremony was graced by Director Finance Madam Ragini Sharma Ji along with Dr. Rajneesh Arora- Managing Director, Deans, and Heads of Various departments along with the faculty members of AGC. Amid the event, Dr. Arora said, “Cake Mixing is an age-old tradition the world over and we were very excited to be hosting this unique Cake Mixing Ceremony in AGC as we prepare for a festive season filled with cheer !!"

Advocate Amit Sharma- Chairman AGC praised the event and said, “This culture of cake mixing has been one of the prominent things in India now and I get to see many youngsters are part of it. Like every year, students from our college are very enthusiastic to participate in the cake-mixing ceremony. We will be conducting more such events for better engagement amongst our students.”

In the end, all guests shared their experience held in the ceremony and also congratulated the Department of Hotel management for organizing such a great and wonderful event.
